Custom printed vinyl CDs and DVDs with your own artwork under the vinyl ridge and groove area

We can now print up vinyl-effect CDs and DVDs for you with your own full colour artwork over the full area of the disc and the vinyl-style rings added on top of the artwork. This now opens up the option of custom colour vinyls, marble or tie die effects. We can also produce them in small quantities and with coloured bases (CD data sides of either silver, black, green, a light turquoise or blue, with DVD data sides always being purple).

Your artwork can be printed either onto a white base for more accurate colours, or can be printed directly onto the silver reflective CD or DVD top surface for a metallic and reflective effect behind all of the colours.

These discs can then be packed in any of our existing packaging options. If you wish to go for these full printed vinyl discs (rather than the existing vinyl CDs or DVDs that have a printed colour sticker in the middle), then please just add £0.35+VAT per disc for less than 100 copies or £0.25+VAT per disc for 100 copies or more.

The printing onto the discs is a permanent direct-to-disc print using a very high quality UV LED printer that has excellent resolution and accurate, vibrant colours.

Packaging options

The vinyl style card wallets for our record-style CDs can either be full colour printed or are available (shown left to right) in 100% recycled natural white card with a matt finish, smooth white card, a thick solid matt red (roughly Pantone 1797), a thick solid matt black or a thick textured brown Manila / kraft colour. Card weights are all around 300gsm, apart from the smooth white which is around 250gsm. Please note that the red, black, 100% recycled natural white and Manila cards are expensive premium card stocks and cost an extra £0.10+VAT per wallet if you wish to go for them.

If you would like your CDs or DVDs in a clear wrap for a glossy protective finish that is ideal for retail environments or presentation purposes then please add £0.08+VAT per disc for either a shrink wrap or  a cellophane resealable wrap.

Add a thumbcut…

If you would like a thumbcut added to the wallets for easier disc removal then we can easily do so. Please note that it does eat into the artwork space a little, but we have had a lot of requests for them, so thought we would add them as an option. Please add £0.05+VAT per unit that you would like the thumbcuts added to and please mention when ordering if you would like thumbcuts added to the CD wallets, otherwise they are provided with normal straight edges by default.

Custom printed vinyl CD and DVD artwork template downloads, for full printing on the disc surface (also suitable for editing in Photoshop)

The printed area on these vinyl-effect discs is 119mm in diameter with a 16.5mm diameter central hole. The artwork template that you download is for the whole printed area (no bleed margin is required due to the accuracy of printing), the raised ridges and grooves with the vinyl effect will be automatically added on top of your artwork:

CD presentation frames

The frames are fully finished, ready to hang and include additional copies of your release and can even be provided with a full colour printed metal plaque with your artwork on to celebrate the CD release or as a memento for the band members. The frames can include both a copy of the disc and also the packaging and are available in black or white borders with black or white backgrounds.

Type of printing on the CDs

For quantities of fewer than 1000 discs we use a full colour high resolution laser print onto gloss or matt permanent labels that are then applied to the discs. The matt labels go very well with our recycled card packaging and have a similar slightly rough texture. For quantities of 1000 discs or more we can use a direct-to-disc full colour offset litho or silk screen print onto the discs although you can still go for labels if you prefer.

Add some full colour printed guitar picks

When placing an order with us, why not add some custom printed guitar picks with your band logo on? The picks are available in different thicknesses for acoustic/electric and bass guitars and also lots of different base colours. We can then print full colour on-body artwork with partial white base layers and spot gloss layers if required. Ideal for not only playing with, but also for merch stands, added value online CD/cassette/vinyl sales or freebies for fans.

Do you need a barcode?

If you will be selling your discs or cassettes through a retail store then you will probably need to register a unique barcode for your release and apply it to the rear outer artwork of your product to make it possible for them to sell via their product barcode scanner.

In Europe we use the EAN 13 barcode system and in North America the UPC system is used. We can register an EAN 13 barcode for you and embed the barcode graphic within your disc or cassette packaging artwork for just £12+VAT. The only information that we will require from you will be the name of the band/artist and the title of the release, then just leave a suitable space in your artwork and we will register the barcode and add it to your artwork for you, all for just £12+VAT.

1. By email If the artwork (and contents if we are burning the discs for you) are less than 10MB then you can email them to us here.

2. By uploading online Any size of files can be uploaded to us free of charge online via our WeTransfer upload - please remember to provide your order details (band name, type of cassettes required, packaging type, total order quantity and delivery address) in the information field when uploading.
