CDs in Printed Card Digipaks with Booklets

For small run orders of 50 items or more

These high quality printed card CD digipacks (also referred to as ‘digipaks’) are ideal as a lightweight packaging solution that allows full colour printing on the four pages of the cardboard case and also include a full colour booklet of between 4 to 16 pages behind the inside left panel of the digipak.

The booklet pocket can either be a ‘tunnel’ pocket open on both the outside left side and the right hand spine side, or they can be sealed on the outer side and just open on the inner side with a thumbcut to help removing the booklet. On the inside right panel there is a crystal clear disc tray that allows your artwork to show through from the inside page. These digipacks are less susceptible to damage than a brittle jewel case and also use 65% less plastic than standard jewel cases.

They can be supplied with full colour printed CDs or our vinyl style CDs with your own disc contents added. These digipacks can also be manufactured from 100% recycled card stock if you wish.

Spot UV clear gloss printing on digipaks

For a stunning selective gloss effect on our CD digipaks, we can now offer spot gloss clear UV printing onto the digipaks. The gloss print really catches the light, is raised up from the surface of the digipak and looks great on dark backgrounds, like the example shown to the right. The spot gloss print is applied after the digipaks have been printed and assembled, so print registration can be quite hard (matching the positioning of the gloss print to artwork underneath, if for example you wanted make a certain printed element like your logo come out in gloss) and we recommend printing the spot gloss on a blank area and letting the gloss effect be the logo or element that you wish to highlight.

Adding spot gloss UV printing to one side of a digipak adds £1.00+VAT per digipak to the pricing above.

Recycled card

If you would like your digipaks printed using 100% recycled card stock then please add £0.10+VAT per unit to any of the above prices

Double-sided printing on the digipaks

For 4/4 printing on the digipaks so that the inner spines are also printed full colour then please add £0.15+VAT per wallet for quantities of 500 or fewer units or £0.09+VAT per wallet for quantities of more than 500 wallets. Otherwise the inner spines will just be left white.

Environmentally-friendly compostable CD packaging wraps

In addition to conventional cellophane protective and presentation wraps for your discs that are ideal for retail environments or presentation purposes, we can now offer an environmentally-friendly version made from potato starch and is 100% compostable, breaking down into CO2 and humus and can literally be put on a compost heap to break down (they just need prolonged contact with moisture and warmth to break down biologically). The clear wraps have a very high clarity, are almost indistinguishable from cellophane and are certified to the European EN 13432 standard which requires the compostable material to disintegrate after 12 weeks and completely biodegrade after six months. They even come with a clear sticker saying that the wraps are 100% compostable and even the sticker is made from potato starch!

Please note that the compostable nature of the wraps means that they are a temporary storage wrap and should be stored in cool dry conditions and should be used or disposed of within six months. If you think that your discs may not be sold within a few months or that your customers may want to keep them in the original outer wrap then you may wish to stick to conventional cellophane wraps.

The pricing for standard cellophane wraps is £0.10+VAT per unit or the compostable CD wraps are £0.15+VAT per unit inclusive of the sticker, which can be placed wherever you like on the wallets, although we would normally place it in the bottom right corner of the front panel, or a suitable clear area if no specific instructions are provided.

Coloured CDs

Make your discs stand out or fit with your artwork colouring by adding a unique coloured glossy content layer (underside) in either red, green, blue or black, purple or orange making them quite different and individual from the standard silver base discs. Adding a coloured base costs £0.10+VAT per unit.

CD presentation frames

The frames are fully finished, ready to hang and include additional copies of your release and can even be provided with a full colour printed metal plaque with your artwork on to celebrate the CD release or as a memento for the band members. The frames can include both a copy of the disc and also the packaging and are available in black or white borders with black or white backgrounds.

Type of printing on the CDs

Our disc printing is an on-body full colour UV-LED print for quantities of less than 300 or a silk screen / litho print for larger quantities. Our vinyl-style CDs come with full colour printed labels in the middle as this is more authentic, however we can do on-body printing of the vinyl discs by special request. With our UV-LED printing we can also print partial white bases and spot gloss effects (spot gloss would add £0.50+VAT per disc). We can also leave the white base out altogether if you would like to get a reflective print or colours. The picture illustrates the same artwork printed onto both a reflective silver base and white base on our UV LED printer (either option is the same price).

Add some full colour printed guitar picks

When placing an order with us, why not add some custom printed guitar picks with your band logo on? The picks are available in different thicknesses for acoustic/electric and bass guitars and also lots of different base colours. We can then print full colour on-body artwork with partial white base layers and spot gloss layers if required. Ideal for not only playing with, but also for merch stands, added value online CD/cassette/vinyl sales or freebies for fans.

Do you need a barcode?

If you will be selling your discs through a retail store then you will probably need to register a unique barcode for your release and apply it to the rear outer artwork of your product to make it possible for them to sell via their product barcode scanner.

In Europe we use the EAN 13 barcode system and in North America the UPC system is used. We can register an EAN 13 barcode for you and embed the barcode graphic within your disc packaging artwork for just £12+VAT. The only information that we will require from you will be the name of the band/artist and the title of the release, then just leave a suitable space in your artwork and we will register the barcode and add it to your artwork for you, all for just £12+VAT.

However there are also three other main ways in which you can get your contents and artwork across to us:

1. By email If the artwork (and contents if we are burning the discs for you) are less than 10MB then you can email them to us here.

2. By uploading online Any size of files can be uploaded to us free of charge online via our WeTransfer upload - please remember to provide your order details (band name, type of cassettes required, packaging type, total order quantity and delivery address) in the information field when uploading.

3. By post Please send your artwork (and contents if we are burning the discs for you) to: Disc Production Manager, Wizbit Internet Services Ltd, Keppel K1, Daedalus Park, Lee-on-the-Solent, Hampshire, PO13 9FX.

Payment is required before production of the order. Once we have received your artwork files (and audio contents if also being recorded) and verified that they are ready for production then we will email an invoice across to you that can be paid by cheque, BACS, PayPal or credit/debit card. His meticulous attention to detail was unlike anything else I've experienced from any of the printers/manufacturers I've dealt with in the past at other companies. He ensured that certain elements of the design lined up and also bent over backwards to make sure the colour of the printed J Cards matched nicely with the colour of the plastic cassette. Top this off with an extremely quick turnaround, high quality products, great sounding audio and all at the lowest price I could find anywhere online and you can see why it's smiles all round in my house!
